Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position reflects a nationwide market range and encompasses a broad spectrum of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the complexity and location of the role, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other employment conditions. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits program also includes eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The accounting team at Travelers is responsible for managing our financial information and controls to ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations. The team provides transparency regarding the company's financial health by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable information to all stakeholders.

As an Accountant, your role will involve maintaining precise financial records for reporting to both internal and external parties while upholding a robust control environment. This position will support the Personal Insurance Finance within the accounting and controls unit.

Utilizing your accounting expertise, you will engage in financial activities such as preparing, evaluating, and finalizing financial tasks, including journal entries, payment requests, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

- Compile and review financial data for accuracy and reporting.
- Prepare, evaluate, and assist in the development of analyses to support financial/business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare, evaluate, and finalize components for internal management-based financial reporting, ensuring consistency with corporate policies and standards.
- Prepare, analyze, and complete components of external financial statements, which may include GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC, and STAT (Statutory Accounting Principles).
- Prepare, analyze, and control components of state-mandated accounting.
- Conduct financial controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
