Job Summary:

The Warehouse Associate I position plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of goods throughout the distribution center at Midwest Veterinary Supply, Inc.

Responsibilities include order pulling, packing & shipping, receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse housekeeping. Utilizing an RF (Radio Frequency) Scanner, the successful candidate will perform directed picks of inventory to complete customer order fulfillment.

Key tasks include:

  • Visually inspecting and alerting a lead/supervisor of potentially problematic inventory conditions.
  • Utilizing a workstation to scan and verify that items pulled are the correct items to be shipped to the customer.
  • Applying appropriate packaging materials and processes to ensure minimal risk of spoilage or damage while in transit.
  • Printing and applying shipping labels to packages.
  • Alerting a team lead/supervisor of problematic inventory, carrier, or shipment conditions.
  • Utilizing an RF scanner to complete inventory movement or replenishments.
  • Utilizing an RF scanner to perform inventory/bin counts.
  • Utilizing an RF scanner to consolidate eligible inventory and locations to ensure efficient utilization of space.
  • Utilizing an RF scanner to receive inventory off Purchase Orders or ASNs.
  • Performing inventory putaways of received inventory.
  • Alerting a lead/supervisor of potential inventory inaccuracies or safety concerns.
  • Cleaning, washing, scrubbing, and/or sweeping of warehouse work areas.
  • Sorting and organizing non-inventory items.
  • Emptying warehouse recycling/cardboard bins and garbage cans.

Requirements & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 months of similar work experience in a warehouse/distribution environment. Forklift certification or the ability to become forklift certified is preferred. Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English, are essential. Basic computer skills and the ability to operate a Windows-based computer are also required.

The successful candidate will be a team player with strong attention to detail, able to work well with others and independently. Self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work long hours as needed are also essential.

Equipment Used:

The successful candidate will utilize an RF (Radio Frequency) scanner, PC workstation, forklift, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, barcode scanner, printers, scale, and tape gun.
