Job Summary

The Franklin Pierce University Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our team. As a core faculty member, you will play a crucial role in the program's administration, including curriculum development, delivery, and review. Your responsibilities will also include teaching, didactic and clinical course coordination, oversight of clinical experiences, academic advising, admissions and recruitment, program evaluation, participating in institutional activities and committees, and evaluating students' performance in cooperation with other faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in the didactic and clinical phases of the program, including developing and updating clinical course syllabi, required reading assignments, and learning objectives.
  • Provide academic advising to students, including holding office hours and meeting with students as needed.
  • Develop, review, and revise the program's mission statement, goals, and competencies as needed.
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled department, division, and university-wide committees.
  • Assist the University in maintaining standards required for accreditation.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A graduate degree in a related field, such as a master's degree in physician assistant studies or a related health degree.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing provider.
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification if a physician assistant.
  • Knowledge of educational, management, and adult learning theory and principles.
  • Ability to administer, assess, and document programmatic clinical education trends and data.
  • Previous teaching experience or preceptorship is preferred.
