At Washington Gastroenterology, we prioritize digestive health as a cornerstone of overall well-being. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and longevity for our patients and communities through effective prevention, detection, and management of gastrointestinal disorders.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to become an integral part of our Tacoma Clinic Team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in delivering internal care by managing delegated medical responsibilities in collaboration with our physician team.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer guidance, screening, and health education to patients to foster and sustain health within the gastroenterology practice.
- Conduct thorough health assessments, including comprehensive health histories and detailed physical examinations.
- Collaborate with physicians to address both acute and chronic medical needs of patients.
- Ensure continuity of care by monitoring patient progress between physician visits, maintaining accurate patient records, and managing test results.
- Design and implement health promotion, illness prevention, and therapeutic strategies tailored to the patient's diagnosis and healthcare needs.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in Washington State.
- Active participation in professional organizations such as ANA, WSNA, AANP, or SGNA.
- Valid AANP or ANCC certification or AAPA.
- Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.
- As a healthcare provider, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with accommodations considered for religious or medical exemptions as permitted.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional travel to local sites may be necessary to cover for absences.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10 hours daily.
- Prolonged sitting for administrative tasks, including computer use.
- Capability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach as required.
- Able to lift and transport supplies and equipment, up to 15 pounds.
