Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our gastroenterology medical practice. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive treatment to patients with acute or chronic gastrointestinal health problems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care autonomously to a caseload of patients in a gastroenterology practice
  • Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history, physical assessment, and pre-procedure workups of patients
  • Prescribe and regulate medications per prescriptive authority in Washington State
  • Document patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care
  • Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
  • Participate in clinical research studies as requested
  • Infusion clinic coverage as needed
  • May include inpatient hospital coverage as needed
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program approved by the CAHEA
  • A current WA State Physician Assistant License required
  • DEA prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current Washington State Driver's license to be able to travel to other local clinics or hospitals as needed
  • Extensive knowledge base of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient health problems
Skills and Abilities
  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity
  • Maintains professional working relationships with physicians and all staff members
  • Interacts positively with other offices, hospitals, pharmacies, etc.
  • Knowledge of APP authorized Washington State scope of practice
  • Responsible for personal and professional growth and effective communication
  • Delegates appropriately to support staff
  • Develops and implements training for patients and staff
  • Collaborates with managers for process improvement
