Job Summary

An incumbent in this role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of buildings and grounds at Delaware Technical & Community College. This includes performing general custodial work, assisting with groundskeeping and maintenance, and interacting with students and staff in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs general custodial work according to institutional sanitation standards, including cleaning and waxing floors, cleaning trash and waste containers, and disinfecting areas as assigned.
• Assists with groundskeeping and limited maintenance when needed, including removing snow and assisting with special events.
• Interacts frequently with students and staff, providing directions and general assistance in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements

• Completion of ten (10) years formal schooling or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to learn and apply methods and procedures in custodial work, including the use of chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow basic instructions.
• Ability to operate and make simple adjustments to housekeeping and grounds equipment.
