POSITION OVERVIEW:

AMD is seeking a top-tier Compiler Engineer to assist in developing the next-generation parallel programming and compilation framework for current and future AMD XDNA devices.

As a vital member of our team, you will engage in the design and implementation of an LLVM-based compiler tailored for AI Engines.

This role offers the opportunity to tackle innovative, intriguing, and complex challenges associated with compilers for heterogeneous multicore systems.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
We are in search of an individual with robust technical leadership skills and a creative, problem-solving approach.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in compiler engineering, leadership capabilities in technical domains, and software engineering expertise, along with the agility to thrive in a dynamic, relevant environment while collaborating with diverse engineering teams.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, enhance, and contribute to a Clang/LLVM-based compiler toolchain aimed at a distinctive VLIW architecture.
  • Assume responsibility for the ongoing development, debugging, and testing of your code.
  • Work closely with various teams to deliver essential solutions to complex, unresolved challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient knowledge and practical experience in C++, preferably with industry exposure. Strong background in compiler engineering, particularly with LLVM, and backend code generation. Solid grasp of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms. Comprehensive understanding of processor architectures and micro-architectural performance considerations, ideally with some familiarity with VLIW architectures. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in leading or owning technical topics, or architecting components in a software product context. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to deliver high-quality projects punctually. Capability to collaborate with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
