Adjunct Professor: Humanities and History

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our team at the University of Southern Mississippi. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a critical role in facilitating students' achievement of course objectives and preparing college students to matriculate through the undergraduate program.
Primary Responsibilities- Course Delivery and Instruction: Teach online and face-to-face courses, ensuring effective instruction and student engagement.
- Syllabus and Documentation: Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner.
- Student Communication: Communicate course requirements and expectations to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the department or university administration.
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Master's degree (or 18 hours of graduate coursework) in History from an accredited university. Additionally, you should have the ability to teach effectively at the university level, both online and in traditional settings. A background check clearance is also required.
Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, a Ph.D. in History and experience with online course delivery and instruction are highly desirable. Familiarity with Canvas technology is also a plus.
