Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Manage Food Service Operations: Oversee the planning, preparation, and serving of meals to students and staff, ensuring compliance with nutrition requirements and health and safety regulations.
  • Lead a Team: Direct and manage a team of food service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Menu Planning and Inventory Management: Plan and implement menus that meet nutritional standards and manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to departmental guidelines and Pima County Health Department requirements.
  • Financial Management: Manage daily and monthly financial production and activity records, preparing and maintaining records for audits and reviews.
  • Employee Management: Ensure compliance with personnel policies and practices, providing education and training as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Management: Maintain logs on equipment maintenance and justify replacement of existing equipment to meet cafeteria needs.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in food service management or equivalent experience, completion of an accredited sanitation course, and comprehensive knowledge of modern cooking procedures and health and hygiene requirements.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and proficiency in the use of large and small kitchen equipment.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability, and ability to lift in a normal cafeteria environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
