This role involves overseeing the complete paint application process, including minor repairs, surface preparation, and finishing work. You will also assist in various reconditioning tasks, ensuring vehicles are presented to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive paint applications with precision.
  • Perform minor repairs, including sanding and surface smoothing.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including color matching and mixing.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures and quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain CarMax's paint quality standards across all vehicles.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels of protective gear, tools, and chemicals.
  • Uphold workplace organization in line with CarMax standards.
  • Deliver excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailing and interior repairs as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Completion of New Associate Orientation Training.
  • Familiarity with the Associate Competency Model.
  • Ability to utilize Kronos for time management.
  • Meet performance standards for various reconditioning roles.
  • Successfully complete workstation certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret data for accurate record-keeping.
  • Skill in discerning appropriate paint colors for vehicle reconditioning.
  • Capability to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Effective communication skills for customer interactions.
  • Willingness to undergo training in all reconditioning functions.
Work Environment:
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, occasionally in noisy or adverse weather conditions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and government regulations.
  • Be prepared for extended periods of standing or walking.
  • Follow safety standards and proper waste disposal procedures.
