Manufacturing Welder

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Welder to join our team at Alcom USA in Winslow, ME. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing welding tasks involved in the construction of trailer base frames, walls, roofs, doors, ramps, and gates for various aluminum framed trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Read and follow blueprints and work orders to ensure a quality product that meets customer demands.
• Weld different facets of aluminum trailers, including but not limited to: tacking, clamping, and welding with proper bead size on bases and cages by the work order; ensure the quality of welds for structural integrity.
• Obtain raw materials from Material Handlers.
• Buff out rough edges using a hand-held power grinder.
• Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from the work order.
• Ensure that the finished product meets quality expectations. Strive for the highest level of quality and understand the need for continuous improvement; support the concept of 'good enough is never good enough'.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; work to minimize scrap, place unused material back in the appropriate area, and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately report any accidents or near misses to the supervisor.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of previous welding experience and ability to read a tape measure.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
• Prior welding experience of aluminum or steel is desired.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $42,000 per year, based on a 10-hour day shift schedule with no weekends. This estimate may vary depending on individual qualifications and experience.
