Job DescriptionThe Welder and Fabricator will be responsible for performing welding tasks involved in the construction of trailer base frames, walls, roofs, doors, ramps, and gates. This includes measuring, cutting, and welding of aluminum trailer components.
Key Responsibilities- Reads and follows blueprints and work orders to ensure quality products that meet customer demands.
- Welds different facets of aluminum trailers, including tacking, clamping, and welding with proper bead size on bases and cages by the work order; ensures the quality of welds for structural integrity.
- Obtains raw materials from Material Handlers.
- Buffs out rough edges using a hand-held power grinder.
- Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues, including defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from the work order.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in the appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.
- Follows all safety procedures, wears personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately reports any accidents or near misses to the supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous welding experience and ability to read a tape measure.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment helpful.
- Prior welding experience of aluminum or steel desired.
- Standing – up to 80%
- Walking - up to 80%
- Lifting – approximately 55% during the shift
- Up to 25 pounds constantly
- Up to 50 pounds frequently
- Up to 100 pounds occasionally

This is a full-time position with a weekend shift schedule, offering a stable work-life balance. You will work in our Winslow, Maine facility, where you will be part of a diverse workforce speaking multiple languages.
