Patient Account Representative: Insurance Claim Follow Up Specialist

As a Patient Account Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patient accounts are processed efficiently and accurately, resulting in prompt and timely payment.
You will act as a liaison between Patient Account Services, physician offices, clinical areas, patients, and third-party carriers to identify and resolve any issues causing payment delays.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and updating patient accounts, answering patient and insurance calls, and responding to correspondence in a timely manner.
You will also work closely with internal and external customers to resolve issues and ensure compliance with fee schedules.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of relevant experience, and basic knowledge of healthcare and insurance terminology.
Additional skills include strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to navigate insurance websites and access patient information.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Saint Francis Health System team and contribute to the success of our patient accounting department.
Working Relationships:You will work directly with patients and/or customers, as well as internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
You will also work with other healthcare professionals and staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Decision Making:You will use independent judgment to make minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
