Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for a travel assignment. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and sterilizing instruments.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments as needed.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including on-call rotations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital or academic setting.
  • Knowledge of Cerner charting system.
  • Ability to respond to on-call situations within 60 minutes.
