Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our sourcing team, you will be responsible for creating businesses in the Toys department, working closely with Merchants to ensure critical business metrics are met, and influencing future growth strategies to help our customers Save Money and Live Better.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Private Brand sourcing strategy and supplier matrix to optimize GMV, profit, and market share by supporting Every Day Low Prices strategy.
  • Communicate with retail teams to align, arrange buy trips, and manage critical issues during the order execution process.
  • Oversee factory capability and capacity, product quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, including account management, project management, and factories.
  • Manage the oversight of sourcing and operational issues regarding costing and quality of Omni channel.
  • Guide partners and suppliers to ensure product quality, delivery, and price goals.
  • Partner with Merchandise Quality Engineers on problems related to quality.
  • Present sourcing solutions that mitigate risks while maintaining profitability.
  • Understand supplier capabilities, capacity, and performance.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Use in-depth understanding of should-be cost structure to provide cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost, quality, and delivery performance, newness, innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives/projects with cross-functional partners.
  • Help to collect market intelligence and share with related teams.
  • Analyze data by leveraging in-house and third-party platforms/tools to build data-backed proposals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related area.
  • Bilingual in English and one or more language used to transact business in assigned country.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Experience in retail, manufacturing, or sourcing.
  • Experience working for a retailer, or major brand, importer/agent serving a major retail customer.
