Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise a team of nursing staff, radiation therapy technicians, and scheduling coordinators
    • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to promote professional growth and development
  • Patient Care and Services
    • Oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care, including chemotherapy administration, venipuncture, and other technical tasks
    • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care
  • Operational Management
    • Manage the daily operations of the Comprehensive Cancer Care service, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow, reduce wait times, and enhance overall efficiency
    • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Quality Improvement and Education
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction
    • Provide education and training to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on oncology-related topics
    • Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement educational programs and resources

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
  • Previous experience working in oncology preferred
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clinicians, staff, and patients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills
