Job Description

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Wards Nursing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our veterinary wards, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of veterinary nurses, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician (CVT) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and mutual respect.
