Job Summary:

As an Aircraft Component Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace, you will be responsible for repairing and overhauling internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work with precision tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and overhauls of aircraft components, including mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional and operational tests of aircraft components.
  • Inspect components to ensure conformity requirements are met.
  • Remove and install aircraft components, including skins and related components.
  • Demonstrate effective repair techniques, including troubleshooting, soldering, and application of protective coatings.
  • Maintain and utilize required paperwork in accordance with FAA RS requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lay out, remove, fabricate, and/or install major and minor repairs to flight controls and other secondary structure components.
  • Fabricate and repair sheetmetal and associated mechanical parts, components, and/or equipment.
  • Remove and install APUs and perform all required APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models.
  • Fabricate and repair wiring and electrical assemblies and harnesses.
  • Utilize training and tools to effectively troubleshoot complex electrical circuits and/or systems during component repair process.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years experience in one of the following or other related experience: Sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, and servicing.
  • Must possess basic understanding of shop math.
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, engrg docs, and use precision measuring tools.
  • Must be able to work any shift as required.
