We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at ChristianaCare. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality health services.

About the Role

This is a 36-hour per week position with rotating shifts, including night and day shifts. You will work closely with hospitalists, specialty consultants, and transitional nursing staff to deliver patient-centered care and promote positive health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient physical and emotional status, past health history, health practices, and disease treatment knowledge
  • Manage a team of 3-4 medical or surgical patients per shift
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to achieve realistic healthcare goals for patients and their families
  • Plan nursing care to promote patient wellness and provide education on disease processes and patient care
  • Closely monitor patients, manage emergencies, and provide ongoing support and education
Requirements
  • BSN degree required; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years from date of hire may be considered with relevant experience
  • Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience; telemetry experience a plus
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred, with commitment to obtaining within 6 months of hire
  • Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred
