Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Residential Care
    • Ensure the safety and security of clients at all times
    • Provide direct supervision and support to residential care staff
    • Act as a liaison between staff and other agency professionals
  • Facility Management
    • Assume the role of Facility Manager while on shift
    • Manage and control the day-to-day operation of the facility
    • Supervise clients and ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures
  • Training and Development
    • Train new residential care staff
    • Provide feedback and coaching to staff
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and other agency professionals
    • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement treatment plans
    • Provide support and guidance to staff as needed
Requirements
  • Education
    • BA/BS Degree or Child Development Teaching Permit
    • 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, Adolescent Development units, Foster and Kinship Care Education, and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth
  • Experience
    • At least one year of full-time experience working with the client group to be served
    • Experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home performing duties specified in Title 22 Group Home Regulation section 84065.2(c)
  • Certifications
    • Valid California Driver's License
    • First Aid certification
    • CPR certification
    • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification
    • Bloodborne Pathogens certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of standard and acceptable principles and practices of mental health and child protection services
    • Knowledge of child/adolescent development and behavior
    • Knowledge of child abuse and substance abuse issues
    • Strong crisis intervention skills and knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Strong leadership and supervision skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner
    • Ability to work in a team approach with diverse sectors of the community
