IMEG is expanding, and we invite you to consider joining our team. We are currently looking for a Structural Project Engineer.

In this role, you will be tasked with performing calculations, designing systems including gravity and lateral framing, and sizing foundations. You will also be responsible for preparing reports, progress submissions, BIM instructions for the project, and specifications to ensure project accuracy and completeness within the designated timeframe and budget.

The Structural Project Engineer will consistently exercise discretion and judgment in executing these responsibilities.

Additionally, you will serve as the Lead Designer on projects and will be expected to analyze and design simple structures using engineering judgment, computer software, spreadsheets, and manual calculations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project specifications and ensure design compliance with code requirements;
  • Calculate costs and timelines for proposed work; review all documentation to determine scope and personnel involved;
  • Maintain positive client relations, project design notebooks, and provide documentation for permanent records;
  • Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers;
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly while monitoring project design progress in relation to fees expended;
  • Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final checks;
  • Prepare and issue addendum information;
  • Quickly identify potential project issues and seek guidance from the Project Manager;
  • Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager;
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and fulfill all other services as required by the contract;
  • Mentor designers and/or modelers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans and drawings;
  • Familiarity with materials, methods, and tools used in the construction or repair of buildings and structures;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM;
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms to individuals or groups;
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred;
  • Professional Engineering License;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
