About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist in our esteemed Cardiac Cath Lab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support
    • Provide competent and proficient technical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
    • Implement procedural standards and protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Patient Care
    • Provide patient care specific to procedural requirements and patient needs, under the supervision of physicians and Cath Lab Nursing personnel.
    • Monitor vital signs, heart rate/rhythm interpretation, O2 saturation, and LOC.
    • Obtain pertinent patient medical information and enter it into the point-of-care system or procedural record.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Maintain quality control of technical equipment according to protocol.
    • Identify equipment and supply needs for procedures in a timely manner.
  • Professional Development
    • Assess own educational needs and plan strategies to meet knowledge deficiencies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of Diagnostic RT experience with Interventional Invasive Cardiology experience preferred.
    • RT must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Intermediate computer skills, film-processing skills, hemodynamic interpretation skills, and basic patient assessment skills.
    • Knowledge of radiographic imaging and radiation safety.
    • Current RT license in the State of Illinois.
    • BCLS certification and ACLS within 3 months of hiring.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
    • Ability to work staggered 8- or 10-hour shifts.
    • Ability to take call.
    • Ability to work under stressful conditions and difficult situations.
    • Exposed to blood and body fluids.
    • Exposed to radiation.
    • Ability to assist patients in transfer.
    • Ability to perform lifting, pulling, and pushing activities related to patient positioning/transfer and stocking of supplies.
