Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic Technologist to join our team in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our orthopaedic surgeons and assisting with various clinical activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with casting, bracing, and orthotics procedures
  • Apply, modify, and remove upper and lower extremity casts
  • Work with traction and DME supplies
  • Order orthopaedic equipment and supplies
  • Take necessary measurements and record patient data
  • Remove sutures, staples, and other medical devices
  • Change dressings and care for wounds
  • Assist with aspirations and prepare injections
  • Record patient vital signs and medication
  • Assist with fracture reductions and other clinical procedures
  • Review and follow standard admitting and pre-op instructions
  • Assist with follow-up appointments and consultation appointments
  • Measure and fit patients for braces and other orthopaedic devices
  • Instruct patients in pre and post-operative care
  • Clean and stock patient exam and treatment rooms
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One year experience as an Orthopaedic Technician
  • Certification from the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists as a Certified Orthopaedic Technologist, or registration from the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals as a Registered Orthopaedic Technologist
Working Conditions

This position will be working in a fast-paced clinical environment and will require the ability to work effectively in a team setting. The successful candidate will be required to travel to other outpatient locations and may be required to work evening clinics.
