About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Emerson. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants, as well as valves for US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review customer specifications and develop comprehensive design proposals for various valve applications.
  • With CAD, produce models and detailed manufacturing drawings from concept sketches and legacy drawings.
  • Provide technical support to internal company departments, including quality, manufacturing, sales, and purchasing.
  • Troubleshoot and support shop floor activities, varying from material defects to valve assembly and testing.
  • Prepare procedures (assembly, testing, qualification, etc.) and perform stress analysis for products and materials.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar Engineering Technology degree.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience as a mechanical or product engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably with an engineered-to-order product.
  • Familiarity with product data management software and development of bill of materials.
  • Technical knowledge of valves and valve products.
  • Familiarity with ASME Codes and Standards.
