Job Overview

School psychologists play a vital role in ensuring students achieve academic success. They collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment that fosters connections between home, school, and the community for all students.

School psychologists are highly trained in both psychology and education, completing a minimum of a specialist-level graduate degree program. They provide counseling, instruction, and mentoring to students experiencing academic, behavioral, and mental health concerns, increasing student achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining effective instructional strategies to improve learning.

This Child Development Specialist will promote student wellness and resilience by reinforcing communication and life skills, problem-solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism. Key responsibilities include:

  • Counseling (individual and group)
  • Data-based decision making and accountability
  • Crisis prevention and intervention
  • Family-school collaboration services
  • Psychoeducational evaluation
  • Identifying tiered academic, behavioral, and life skills interventions
  • Consultation and collaboration
  • Professional development for parents regarding behavior and learning for students
Requirements
  • A Minimum of 2 years of experience
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $43.27 per hour, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
