About the Role: We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment.



Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Receiving patients, explaining procedures, and positioning them for examinations.
  • Operating MRI equipment according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Performing a full range of MRI examinations, including cardiac and respiratory gated images.
  • Identifying abnormalities and determining the need for additional scans.
  • Notifying physicians of significant findings and maintaining patient records.
  • Maintaining and cleaning MRI equipment, as well as stocking and ordering supplies.
  • Complying with radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Initiating repair calls for equipment malfunctions.
  • Performing patient preparation, including administering IV contrast when necessary.


Requirements: To be successful as an MRI Technologist, you will need to have:



  • A degree in magnetic resonance imaging technology or a related field.
  • A current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered MR Technologist (R.T.MR (ARRT)).
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience as an MRI Technologist, with experience working with GE and Siemens MRI scanners.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
