The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
  • Demonstrated experience in performing general cleaning tasks effectively and efficiently;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of custodial duties, including the safe and proper use of various cleaning materials and equipment;
  • Ability to operate custodial tools such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, mops, and other cleaning devices while ensuring a safe environment;
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and supportively as part of a custodial team;
  • Professional interaction with co-workers, faculty, staff, and students in an academic setting;
  • Proficiency in computer usage and the ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions;
  • Willingness to accept direction from supervisors and respond positively to constructive feedback;
  • Flexibility regarding daily tasks and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver's license;
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • An Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of buildings, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas;
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing cleaning and maintenance tasks such as sweeping, window cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and trash disposal;
  • Floor maintenance activities, including scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning;
  • Providing assistance and directions to faculty and students regarding campus locations and information;
  • Embracing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical capabilities required include the ability to operate cleaning equipment and the capacity to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods. The role involves lifting, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and occasionally carrying items over 50 pounds. Employees must maintain good physical condition to perform the required tasks. Knowledge and experience in operating standard custodial machines such as buffers and extractors are expected. All employees are required to adhere to safety standards while employed.
