Job Summary

A Steward is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the dining area and kitchen. This includes ensuring the proper storage and handling of food and equipment, as well as assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the availability of clean dishes and equipment by washing, sanitizing, and restocking as needed.
  • Prepare the dining area and kitchen for service by cleaning and resetting tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment, including ovens, dishwashers, and refrigerators.
  • Unload and store deliveries, and sweep and mop floors as needed.
  • Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with tasks as needed.
  • Report any kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
