Your responsibilities will also encompass educating patients and their families while advocating for their healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and physicians to design and implement a comprehensive, safe, and age-appropriate care plan that fosters independence and optimal health outcomes.
  • Address the educational and informational needs of patients and families, advocating for their best interests.
  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, and family-centered care environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership by utilizing current research and evidence-based practices to enhance professional knowledge and improve the quality of respiratory care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program with 1-2 years of clinical experience, or
  • Associate's Degree from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program with 3-5 years of experience accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Missouri (MO) and Kansas (KS).
  • Must obtain Kansas Respiratory Therapist license or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required upon hire.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition (PEARS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred upon hire.
  • RRT-NPS certification as a Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist preferred with at least one year of experience.

Compensation

Our compensation packages are competitive within the market. The starting pay for this position is $31.15 per hour, with final offers determined by education and experience.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site work at one of our Children's Mercy locations, as remote work is not an option.
