Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and/or procedures.
Focus on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
Collaborate with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities and community organizations to promote TB education and insure continuity of care.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
Professional experience in public health nursing.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
