Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, backhoes, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of equipment operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform daily pre-start up procedures, including checking fluid levels and completing the Daily Equipment Checklist
  • Communicate with project managers and forepersons regarding daily job specifications and equipment operation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and assist co-workers as needed
  • Ability to follow directions and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Related experience in construction field preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Ability to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
  • Ability to work long hours when required
