The Clinical Laboratory Technician II is vital in providing accurate and prompt diagnostic information that aids in patient care and treatment decisions.


Responsibilities:

Executes all procedures related to the examination of laboratory specimens, ensuring compliance with established protocols to secure accurate and dependable test results.

Conducts quality control and assurance measures to uphold precision in specimen testing and reporting for effective diagnosis and treatment.

Maintains and troubleshoots intricate equipment and testing systems, documenting corrective measures prior to releasing test results to ensure reliable outcomes.

Manages responsibilities and organizes workload to adhere to established laboratory turnaround times for effective patient care and treatment decisions.

Remains updated on annual competencies, continuing education requirements, and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance policies and procedures.

Practices efficient use of resources and actively engages in inventory management to maintain a cost-effective and well-equipped laboratory.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Associate's Degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: 1 year of experience as a technologist in a hospital or similar clinical laboratory setting.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:

Required:

Certification or eligibility as a Clinical Laboratory Technician is required from ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) - Medical Laboratory Technician with AMT (American Medical Technologists); Certification must be completed within one year from the date of hire.


Preferred:
ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification.
