Job Description

As a member of our team at TEKsystems, you will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls in compliance with corporate objectives and government standards, such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Document preliminary audit findings on the quality of controls across all risk-creating areas, including operations, finance, regulatory, technology, M&A, and clearing.
2. Perform routine activities with some multitasking on a single project under supervision.
3. Participate in planning, interviews, and assessments of controls and procedures together with a senior auditor.
4. Test controls and procedures under the supervision of a senior auditor.
5. Participate in discussions regarding developing smart control recommendations.
6. Report preliminary findings and draft parts of the internal audit recommendation.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, such as Computer Science or Information Systems. An advanced degree is preferred.
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field.
Certifications: Professional auditing certifications and proficiency in servers, operating systems, and databases.

We are looking for individuals with conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a discipline. The ideal candidate will have guidance on tasks initially and require supervision. This role will continue to expand as the employee gains more confidence and capability. We require general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. The candidate will often need help understanding the commercial side or key business drivers impacting the task or decision. No supervisory responsibilities are attached to this role. The employee will be accountable for developing technical contributions. The individual will use existing procedures to solve standard problems, analyze information, and standard practices to make judgments. They will have limited impact on their work team and will work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines as described by the supervisor. The candidate will exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding. They will also be an advocate for Control, recognizing when control and exposure problems occur, promptly notifying the team. They will research audit information and prepare preliminary reports with findings. The candidate will provide preliminary input to control plans, adhering to deadlines and balancing competing priorities or deviations from plan. They will acquire knowledge of systems and databases through completing routine responsibilities. The individual will complete routine activities by using company systems and technologies. They will complete quality review checks on data. The candidate will prepare preliminary reports and analyses according to predetermined standards for supervisor/manager review and input. They will provide insights on proposed audit plans. The individual will learn how to identify inconsistencies between work products and supporting analyses. They will develop an understanding of control and processing risks and how to assess them during the course of an audit. The candidate will develop awareness of basic definitions, rules, and techniques of risk management. They will apply basic functional and technical knowledge, in addition to organizational and IT standards, techniques, and procedures when completing work. The individual will seek opportunities to build functional skills and technical expertise and gather feedback from senior associates. They will develop a basic understanding of technical discipline, answering questions pertaining to a specific area of expertise.
