Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technician to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a Polysomnographic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up sleep studies, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
  • Review patient history and verify medical orders to ensure proper care.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted publishing standards.
  • Perform data acquisition and monitoring, identifying and correcting artifacts as needed.
  • Document routine observations and clinical events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
  • Assist with interventions, including positive airway pressure and oxygen administration, as necessary.
  • Follow established protocols for sleep study preparation, data collection, and patient education.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; healthcare and/or pediatric experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in recognizing sleep vs. wake and identifying clinical events while monitoring sleep study patients.
