Position Overview:


The Materials Management Supervisor is tasked with leading a team of Materials Management Specialists, ensuring effective oversight of all requisitioning processes and the management of the SAP materials catalog.

This role involves collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ascertain material requirements, referencing relevant standards and specifications, and developing requisitions and catalog items that align with established catalog criteria for integration into the SAP system.

Additionally, the supervisor will provide essential backup support for both Materials Management and Warehouse Management functions, which may include generating reports, processing inventory transactions, conducting catalog maintenance, and assisting with various Materials Management initiatives as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:


Lead and manage a team of Materials Management Specialists focused on materials requisitioning and the administration of the materials catalog within the SAP-MM framework, promoting a culture of accountability and ongoing enhancement.

Consult with Engineers, Project Managers, Quality Assurance personnel, and other relevant staff or external sources to ensure compliance with material specifications and standards.
Oversee and facilitate materials requisitioning support in SAP Fiori for capital expansion, maintenance, and operational projects.

Engage with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Procurement teams throughout the request process, providing necessary updates and documentation.

Identify and source surplus inventory materials that closely match current needs.
Manage the SAP material catalog, including the creation of new materials and establishing delivery addresses within the SAP system.
Distribute incoming requests effectively, addressing and resolving issues as they arise.

Process daily requests for new catalog items, utilizing technical expertise and judgment to verify, modify, and approve submissions.

Maintain awareness of market trends that may impact existing catalog content.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure that industry standards are accurately represented in the catalog.
Support training initiatives and provide assistance as required.

Evaluate and refine current processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in all operations.

Participate in and oversee special projects, preparing reports as needed.
Continuously assess and enhance operational processes for improved efficiency.

Qualifications:


To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively.


Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience in supervising and mentoring team members to achieve shared objectives.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficient in managing multiple tasks and adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with materials related to the energy sector, particularly natural gas, NGL, and crude systems.
Strong analytical and research capabilities, with the ability to make informed recommendations based on data.

Work Environment:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods due to prolonged sitting or standing.

Occasional travel may be necessary.

Visits to industrial or manufacturing settings may occur, which could involve exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperatures and loud machinery, necessitating appropriate personal protective equipment.
