Job Summary:

The Recycling Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line. This role involves inspecting materials, sorting items into piles or containers, and maintaining a clean work environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect materials and sort items according to type, size, condition, and color
  • Pull contaminants out of paper or off the floor
  • Stack boxes and skids, and dump boxes and totes of material
  • Feed material onto the conveyor and clean up the surrounding sorting line
  • Keep the work area clean and report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must have at least three months of related experience or training. A high school diploma is preferred. The candidate must be able to use motor coordination with finger dexterity and exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds.


Work Environment:

The Recycling Sorter will work in an outdoor environment with exposure to physical occupational risks, dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. The normal setting for this job is an outdoor work site.
