At McLaren USA, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will weigh, measure, and mix ingredients to prepare medications, emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments.
  • You will accurately fill bottles, capsules, or other package forms with measured amounts of medication according to the prescription.
  • Prepackage bulk medications in unit dose packages accurately within specified time periods.
  • Deliver prescriptions to nursing stations and file physician's orders.
  • Enter data into the pharmacy computer system and utilize automated dispensing technology to facilitate inventory management and medication storage.
  • Charge patients and/or patient care areas for medications and supplies according to standard departmental procedures.
  • Organize outdated or overstocked medications for return to manufacturers for credit.
  • Dispense additives for IV and irrigating solutions, mix IV additive solutions, and prepare intravenous ad mixtures or other sterile products accurately and according to established standards.
Requirements:
  • Possess a high school diploma and 6 months of job-related experience or completion of a pharmacy technician-training program.
  • Be trained and educated in age-specific categories being served: neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Be licensed to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan.
