Job Summary:

Hillcrest Extended Care Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian to join our team. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing dietary programs and activities that meet the nutritional needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement dietary plans that meet the nutritional needs of residents, including therapeutic and regular diets.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff, administration, and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of food services.
  • Inspect food storage rooms, utility closets, and other areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Review and develop plans of correction for dietary service deficiencies.
  • Assist in planning the dietary services portion of resident discharge plans.
  • Participate in facility surveys and inspections.
  • Interview residents and family members to obtain diet history and preferences.
  • Develop and maintain records of resident food likes and dislikes.
  • Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served.
  • Plan and implement regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians.
  • Review and ensure compliance with physician orders for therapeutic and regular diets.
  • Meet with administration, medical, and nursing staff to plan food service programs and activities.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of dietary service work areas and food storage rooms.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Dietitian and/or Administrator.
  • Place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in interviewing food supply vendors and purchasing food service supplies and equipment.
  • Develop a written dietary plan of care that identifies resident dietary problems/needs and goals to be accomplished.
  • Develop and maintain a good rapport with others involved in the care plan to ensure a team effort.

Requirements:

  • Experience in food service management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in nutrition or a related field preferred.

Salary Range: $99,000 annually (based on experience)
