Lead Psychiatrist

Under the supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist, the Lead Psychiatrist is tasked with the assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic management of individuals within the correctional health care system. This role encompasses direct patient interactions, providing both individual and group therapy, and developing comprehensive treatment and discharge plans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnoses of inmates in the correctional treatment environment.
- Deliver effective therapeutic interventions, including weekly therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients.
- Engage in treatment planning and participate in case reviews.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Pattern I- Hold a valid psychiatry certification from recognized boards.
- Possess two years of post-residency experience in a correctional or psychiatric setting.
- Complete specialized training in accredited psychiatry programs.
- Have two years of post-residency experience in a correctional or psychiatric setting.
Note: Candidates nearing completion of these requirements may be eligible to take the examination, but appointment is contingent upon meeting all qualifications.
