Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Placement Specialist to join our team at Warm Shelter Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing case management services to clients in various housing programs, with the goal of assisting them in achieving permanent housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their housing needs and goals.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify client barriers to housing and develop strategies to overcome them.
  • Develop and implement individualized housing plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
  • Establish partnerships with internal and external service providers to ensure clients receive comprehensive services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, meetings, and progress towards housing goals.
  • Collaborate with Program Director to ensure compliance with program requirements and best practices.
  • Participate in on-call schedule and respond to client crises as needed.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients in navigating the housing application process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience accepted.
  • 1-3 years' experience working with homeless adults, preferably with substance abuse issues.
  • Knowledge of low-income housing options in Rhode Island, including Section 8 housing.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Must complete background record screening and driving record check.
  • Must be able to act as mandatory reporter for child abuse.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
