Position Overview:
As a Medical Lab Technologist, you will engage in a collaborative atmosphere to provide exceptional patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional in a healthcare setting. Your role will involve analyzing a diverse range of biological samples.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and address issues (including technical, instrumental, and physiological) during testing, promptly informing the supervisor.
  • Regularly discuss workload with the supervisor to ensure prioritization of critical procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, accurately monitoring supply inventory to meet both immediate and future needs.
  • Adhere strictly to established procedural protocols to guarantee consistent and precise results.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in managing situations not explicitly covered by existing protocols.
  • Effectively utilize all relevant computer systems (both HIS and LIS) to optimize performance.
  • Proactively seek knowledge regarding computer operations.
  • Conduct scientific testing on samples and relay findings to physicians.
  • Perform blood tests for transfusion purposes, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed when drawing blood from patients.
  • Develop and maintain cell and tissue cultures for testing as necessary, employing advanced laboratory techniques to isolate and identify specimens.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.
  • Licensure/Certification: AABB certification required, with licensure in all five laboratory areas.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of blood bank experience in a hospital environment.
  • Additional Skills: Flexibility to work every other or every third weekend.
