Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop production tools and machines to meet quality and safety specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Develop new processes, tooling, and machinery to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up new equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Training and Development: Train others to use equipment safely and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and solve production-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve product quality issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and reduce costs.
  • Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigate potential applications.
  • Layout and Design: Design plant, department, and area layouts to optimize space and improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology from an accredited university.
  • Methodology: Through understanding of G, D, and T methodology.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of modern fabrication and machine shop practices and techniques.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills (oral and written), and working knowledge of computer systems and data processing.
  • Experience: Experience with capital appropriation evaluations and analysis.
