Job Summary

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist II is a key member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team at Baylor Scott & White Healthcare, responsible for coordinating and directing preventative and rehabilitative healthcare services for patients. This role requires a high level of expertise in exercise physiology and cardiovascular rehabilitation, with a focus on providing patient-centered care and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical histories, physical conditions, and exercise tolerance to develop personalized exercise prescriptions and treatment plans.
  • Exercise Program Development: Design and implement exercise programs tailored to patients' needs, goals, and medical conditions, ensuring a safe and effective rehabilitation experience.
  • Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on the importance of exercise, healthy lifestyle habits, and disease management, promoting long-term adherence to treatment plans.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation specialists, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, streamline processes, and promote best practices in cardiac rehabilitation.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in a cardiac rehabilitation or exercise physiology setting.
  • Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
