We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Health Advocates Network, Inc. as a Mental Health Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Mental Health Program to include staff development, mental health counseling of students, according to the Job Corps Federal Regulations and the (PRH) Policy and Requirements Handbook.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement mental health programs to promote wellness and prevent mental health issues among students.
- Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and therapy services to students as needed.
- Collaborate with health services staff to provide chronic care management for students with mental health disabilities.
- Develop and lead psycho-educational skill-building groups to promote wellness and prevent mental health issues.
- Provide on-call mental health services for emergencies, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
- Conduct mental health evaluations and refer students for psychiatric care as needed.
- Make referrals to off-center mental health professionals or agencies for ongoing treatment and/or specialized services.
- Document and submit forms and correspondence to local, State and Federal agencies to meet all requirements of the program.
- Attend staff training sessions as required and facilitate staff training on topics related to adolescent growth and development.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as an independent practitioner in the state where the center is located.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults.
- Knowledge of mental health issues of disadvantaged youth and excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to relate to disadvantaged young adults and develop a rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to make sound decisions and read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures in Government regulations.
