About the Role

DispatchHealth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team as a Field Based Radiologic Technologist. As a Field Based Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing portable x-rays and other diagnostic imaging procedures in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, residential homes, and other patient locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to patient locations to perform portable x-rays and other diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing diagnostic imaging exams
  • Collect and verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging exams
  • Operate portable radiologic equipment at patient's bedside or other designated exam settings
  • Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, body part, and degree of penetration required
  • Ensure safe work practices, including safe driving, radiation safety, and ALARA principles, infection control, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment
Requirements
  • Meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R) and/or state x-ray license (if applicable)
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends
