About the Role
As a valued member of the UNC Health team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, discharge rooms, and support areas, including nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units, and isolation rooms.
- Enter data into the bed tracking system to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Inspect ancillary and patient areas to ensure they meet hospital standards.
- May serve as a team leader, planning and scheduling tasks, making work assignments, training staff, controlling bed tracking, and inspecting all areas throughout the hospital.
- Perform floor care duties, including stripping, waxing, dust mopping, and damp mopping floors, as well as vacuuming, bonneting, and extracting carpets.
- Train and instruct new area technicians in proper hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Housekeeping experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, including MSDS sheets, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to understand verbal communications.
