Detailed Job Description:
We are in search of a skilled Paving Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance of asphalt paving, sealcoating, and concrete machinery for our teams. The selected candidate will be instrumental in managing and ensuring the upkeep of essential paving equipment such as pavers, seal coating machines, rollers, and trucks. This role includes developing a preventive maintenance strategy for all critical machinery and collaborating closely with field leaders to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance: Cultivate a safety-first culture by enforcing industry best practices and ensuring adherence to safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to enhance productivity and quality, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards through regular inspections and audits.
- Equipment and Materials Management: Supervise the maintenance and operation of paving equipment and manage inventory levels to ensure resource availability and minimize waste.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in the maintenance of asphalt paving and concrete equipment, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance management tools and systems.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to maintenance operations.
- Ability to perform necessary repairs to support operational schedules.
- Strong technical knowledge of paving, seal coating, and concrete techniques and materials.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
Duties:
- Lead the maintenance team and coordinate repair schedules with operations leadership.
- Monitor overtime and manage employee assignments effectively.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the maintenance shop and yard.
- Oversee inspections and ensure proper documentation of repairs.
- Utilize a purchase order system for all parts and equipment acquisitions.
- Transition from reactive repairs to a proactive maintenance approach.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Communicate equipment needs and maintenance schedules effectively with leadership.
- Demonstrate physical capability to perform job duties.
- Manage equipment repairs from initiation to completion.
Experience:
- Proven track record as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role within the construction sector.
- Understanding of methods and techniques for maintaining paving and seal coating equipment.
- Ability to operate and repair various paving machinery.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid Driver's License is necessary; a CDL License is advantageous but not mandatory.
