Job Overview

We are in search of a proficient Collections Team Lead to become a part of our client's workforce, a prominent player in the Security services sector.

Position Summary

The Collections Team Lead is accountable for overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable interactions with a designated group of commercial clients. This role is essential for ensuring the prompt and effective collection of outstanding receivables by fostering open communication between clients and the sales team while upholding positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A CALL CENTER POSITION FOR ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE. CALL CENTER EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Compensation: $20.50 per hour

Work Arrangement: Remote

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break

Essential Skills: Call Center experience, Accounts Receivable expertise, proficiency in Excel and Outlook is advantageous, self-motivated.

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts; collect outstanding receivables by evaluating open balances and taking necessary actions to engage clients; achieve or surpass assigned DSO and overdue invoice targets.
  • Address issues through account reconciliation and coordinate the rectification of billing or cash application discrepancies.
  • Resolve client disputes and claims while providing insights to enhance processes and prevent future errors.
  • Analyze payment patterns by client or client group and take appropriate actions to address concerns or notify management as needed.
  • Recognize when, to whom, and how to escalate issues for resolution.
  • Implement credit holds on accounts as necessary.
  • Advise operational counterparts and management on risks associated with accounts receivable relationships.
  • Support departmental productivity objectives by managing incoming calls, chats, and email inquiries during peak periods.
  • Minimize losses from bad debt.
  • Communicate with Field Operations and Sales Teams regarding account and portfolio updates.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities, participating in project teams, or leading projects.

Qualifications:

  • To excel in this role, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty.

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in a business-related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a credit and collections or customer-facing role.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and various business software systems as required.
  • Strong decision-making abilities with a keen attention to detail and results-oriented approach.
  • Effective skills in collections, issue resolution, deduction management, and negotiation.
  • Collaborative mindset, along with strong analytical and investigative capabilities.
  • Able to conduct research on a variety of credit issues.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Professional communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external management.
  • Capability to identify problems, propose solutions, and follow through to resolution.
  • Demonstrates high-level, sustainable performance and results.
