We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Histology Technologist to join our team at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.
Job Summary:The Clinical Laboratory Histology Technologist will conduct moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in various areas of the hospital core laboratory department, including hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and chemistry.
Responsibilities:- Conducts testing on clinical specimens in various areas of the hospital core laboratory department.
- Performs quality control on all tests and follows up on out-of-range results.
- Relays critical values to appropriate teams and utilizes the laboratory information system (LIS) to document patient examination results.
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or one of the physical sciences (Chemistry, Biology, etc.).
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a designated clinical laboratory setting.
- Current New York State License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information System (LIS) is preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to read computer screens, procedure manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices.
- Ability to pass a test for color blindness.
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,654 - $102,039 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentives, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
