About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at UT Health San Antonio. As a key member of our Orthodontics Program, you will play a vital role in supporting dental care delivery and ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
  • Assist faculty, residents, and students in the clinic, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments, maintaining accurate records and inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Perform routine procedures, including taking and developing digital x-rays, assisting with oral examinations, and patient charting
  • Receive and prepare patients for dental treatment, including taking vitals and passing instruments and materials
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Registry with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
  • Excellent hand skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in tight quarters
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, faculty, and students
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software applications
